UMTS/GSM 900/1800/1900 2mpixel 3G/PDA phone Review (3) Interface and Functionality
3 By rotating the lens cover behind the phone, you the phone goes into camera mode. Clicking on settings allows you to set the various parameters for the image or video shot. Options include Shoot mode, Frame Size, White Balance, Quality, Night mode, Timer, Auto-focus(including macro).
Multimedia The built in camera comes with 2 mpixel camera with Auto Focus. For zooming, there is a 16 x digital zoom. Shoot mode can be set to Video, with frame, Burst 4 or Single shot. For effects, there is B&W, negative, sepia, solarize. There is also adjustable white balance, macro, light on, night mode, options. For video shooting, the resolution can be up to 320x240 and video length can be set to normal or for Messaging use., white balance, effects, night mode, microphone mute, quality can also be set. Connectivity P990i supports bluetooth, infra red, Memory stick duo and USB connectivity which I can use to transfer images easily. Transferring of images, ringtones and Java apps are easy as you can choose to use the infra red, bluetooth, USB or via 3G/GPRS. The relevant file types are automatically dumped into the inbox which you need to install accordingly just like in the old Symbian phones. Ringtones P990i supports ringtones using the MP3 or AACs stored. The audio level is acceptable but I would still preferred it to be louder than it is. The sound level is just like the K800i. M4A, 3GP are also supported.
