Nokia N91 WCDMA/ GSM 900/1800/1900 2mpixel Symbian Camera Phone 5/5
Bluetooth 30 May 2006

Conclusion

Based on the Symbian OS, the Nokia N91 inherits the best of Symbian, making it an easy to use device for multimedia playback. With the 4GB capacity, the phone is basically more like a high capcity MP3 player. Music playback is pretty good when paired up with the supplied head set that comes bundled with the package.

In terms of imaging, the phone only comes with 1 camera. This somehow defeats the purpose as we would need a 2nd one for video calling. With the 2mpixel camera, nice photos can be taken. The only regret is that it doesn't come with a Flash LED. The white balance also seems to be a bit off when set to auto mode. Recording of MPEG4 is still restricted to 352x288.

The N91 also removed some of the applications that found their way to N70. Excel viewer etc are removed. As the phone already comes with 4GB, there aren't any optional storage media connector. It would be good to include at least a RS-MMC. Basic transfers will have to go through Bluetooth or USB.

In our days of test, the N91 excels in its functionality especially with the WiFI option of going online. I use that alot as I can easily scan for access points to logon to.

Overall, the phone is geared towards the MP3 users but it is a bit bulky for its size. Nokia could have made it smaller and more compact. A flash led and a second lens would have made the phone better in terms of specs.
