Nokia N91 WCDMA/ GSM 900/1800/1900 2mpixel 4GB Symbian Camera Phone 3/5
Bluetooth 30 May 2006

Usage

The phone takes a while to initialise. Compared to the N70 or any phones, the keypad is very small and makes it difficult to SMS. The main menu button is also located at the top right hand corner of the phone which is a bit strange. It might have been better if it is put near the key pad or on the slider itself.

Multimedia

In most WCDMA phones, there are 2 lens, one for video call and the other for taking shots. This phone only comes with one. Although you can do video call, you would have to flip the phone 180 deg so that the other party can see you. So it is either you can see him or he can see you.

This camera is a 2mpixel camera and you can take photos using it. Scene selctions can be chosen to set it to User defined, Potrait, Landscape or for Night shoot and Sports (fast moving). Flash, White Balance and Colour tone can also be adjusted. Images taken are of resolution 1600x1200.

As for video, videos can be taken at max 352x288 and at maximum or minimum length. For video, the restriction to the length of video is based on the amount of storage space you have on the phone.

The realplayer can be used to playback video clips. MP3 and aac files are playback in Stereo. The visual Radio also makes it easy to tune in to the radio for leisure or important announcements. It can be set to run in the background. Incoming calls will supercede the radio and after hanging up, radio comes back online.

Connectivity

This phone has 4GB of internal memory for you to keep all your videos, pictures, midi, mp3 files. As it has already 4GB, it does not come with external slots for external memory.

Transferring of images, ringtones and Java apps are easy as you can choose to use the bluetooth,  GPRS/3G or  USB. If you use Bluetooth, the relevant file types will also be dumped into the message inbox which you can click to install or view.

Audio and Ringtones

N91's ringtones are much louder compared to the 6680. The phone supports the ringtone format of MP3, AMR, AAC and MIDI. Compared to the previous generation of Symbian phones like 6260 and 6600, 6680's ringtone level is way better. You would not miss the call even if you are in a busy environment. The audio playback from the phone is quite loud.
