Conclusion Jetway HA01-SDGE is based on the NVIDIA nForce 550 MCP single chipset. The board is featured packed. If you think a 550 chipset is cheap and lousy, you have to take another look at it. Just like any SLI capable mainboard with yellow and greenish PCIe slots to distinguish the 8x from 16x slot. The board supports 6 SATA II ports with 1 IDE channel. It also supports SATA RAID0, 1, 0+1,5 functions On board is a MARVELL88E1116 gigabit LAN PHY which supports 10/100/1000Mbps data. This board also has a VIA 1394 controller for connections to DV and firewire devices. It also has High Definition Audio giving you true hifi sound through the S/PDIF Coaxial out. In the performance department, this board really shocked us. As it is based on the NVIDIA 550 MCP chipset, we would expect it to be an entry level chipset. Surprisingly, it gave very good performance challenging the 570 SLI chipset in single and SLI mode operation. I really have to praise the engineers at Jetway for making a NV 550 chipset working like a 570 SLI. This is also the first board based on 550 MCP chipset (which is cheaper) that can run Dual 8X PCIe SLI mode! The BIOS comes with many overclocking voltage options allowing the enthusiast to have fun with the processor. Something that we like is that Power and Reset buttons on the board, this makes testing easier without having to find a screw driver to short the pins to power down or reset the system. You can refer to our Gallery to take a look at the options available in the BIOS. In our overclocking test, we only managed to reach a high of only 10x260, with 8x multiplier, we can reach 8x285MHz with HT set to 3x and running ASync DDR2-400 mode. I would say this could be due to the limitation of the chipset as max voltage for chipset and memory voltage is used. It is probably due to costs that the packaging is a bit weak. It didn't include much documentation but most of the settings on board are self-explanatory. Overall, the board would be priced very competitively against the other 570 boards out there in the market as its performance is on par if not better. If you are a looking for a SLI board with Dual 8x and do not o/c that much, this might be a board to consider since it has GbE, 1394, SLI too.
