Intel
Core Microarchitecture 4/4
Gallery A demonstration was shown using the software CineBench 3D and it shows that the Conroe took a much lesser time to complete the rendering compared to the Pentium D 950. In a seperate test, Q4 was ran with a builtin demo and it scored 133.7fps in 29s using settings of Medium at 1024x768. Intel is pushing the this new Core microarchitecture very aggressively. It promises an improvement in performance with a lower power consumption. It also increased the pipeline and enhanced the architecture with Dynamic Execution, intelligent Power Capability, Advanced Smart Cache, Smart Memory Access and Advanced Digital Media Boost. Not only will it enhance the performance of multithreaded applications, conventional single threaded applications will also get a boost in performance too. The Conroe processor should arrive just in time for Computex Taipei to be held in June. Board makers are also ready to launch boards based on i965 chipset to support this new generation of CPUs. ON another development, ASrock has announced a i865 board which claims to support Intel Conroe using AGP8x+DDR400. - Reported from Bangkok 21st Apr 2006. Next >>> |
