D975XBX with Intel 955 processor Benchmarks 2/7
Benchmarks Due to constraints of the mainboards tested. The Intel D975XBX is ran in CAS 4, 8-3-3 whereas the ECS PF22 Extreme based on the i955x chipset is ran in CAS 3, 8-4-4 as we were unable to change the CAS latency to 4. The following readings are obtained using CPU-Z. We noticed that the ECS PF22 Extreme automatically overclocks in the background to a much higher FSB. We just have to be mindful of that in the comparisons later. Another important point to note is that 975X supports 8X + 8X CrossFire whereas the i955X board ECS PF22 extreme runs it in 4x+16x mode for CrossFire. In the graphics tests, we used a Powercolor X850XT CrossFire Edition + X850XT Platinum Edition and ran it with Catalyst 5.13
It is interesting to see that even when we ran the memory at CAS 3 on the ECS PF22 extreme and CAS 4 on the Intel D975XBX board, the memory benchmarks differences isn't that much.
