Benchmarks - 3Dmark2003/3DMark2005

In this category, we tested 3Dmark03. The systems are run with Forcware 81.98 which is one of the latest driver. In 3Dmark03, the difference in single card mode isn't that much. In SLI mode, the difference is around 300 points. This is not surprising as NVIDIA always 'optimise' their driver for their own cards.

In 3Dmark2005, this benchmark has been seen to be quite subjective to the driver used. As we observe, the difference is quite noticable if you look at the scores. The interesting fact is that, if you use an older driver, the scores on the ULi 1697 board remains similar and we see a decrease of the score of the Jetway board. Again we can confirm that the newer forceware drivers are always optimising for specific benchmarks that are commonly used. Will this affect the performance in unpopular games? Lets read on.
