EP-5GZ946-M is based on the i946 + ICH7 chipset. It supports Socket LGA775 for Intel® Celeron D® 3xx, Intel® Pentium 4® 5xx/6xx up to 3.4GHz CPU. upport Intel Pentium D® 8xx/9xx with Dual core processor up to 3.4GHz, support Intel Conroe core processor, support 533/800 MHz front-side bus and support Intel CPU manufactured in 65nm process.

It comes with 2 DDR2 slots supporting up to 2GB of DDR2-667. There are 3 PCI, 1 PCIe x16 slot. It supports 4 SATAII, 8 USB,One Gb Ethernet from Realtek RTL8110-SC PCI controller (5GZ946-MJ only), One 10/100 Ethernet from Realtek RTL8100C PCI controller (5GZ946-M only) and 6 ch audio.
