Introduction Latest : Retail Powercolor X1900XT Reviewed here. The Radeon X1900 series sets the new standard for high-end gaming GPU performance. It is the first series of PC graphics products to feature 48 pixel shader processors, twice as many as any previous technology. This huge leap in pixel shading ability is empowering developers to use new features and techniques that have been precluded by performance limitations until now, while still using the industry standard DirectX® 9 API and Shader Model 3.0. The maturation of 90nm process technology allows the Radeon X1900 to take advantage of unprecedented transistor density. With over 380 million transistors, the design is able to combine all of the key innovations of the Radeon X1000 series (including Ultra-Threading, HDR with Anti-Aliasing, image quality improvements, Avivo video & display technologies, and more) with massively increased shader processing power and other interesting new features like Fetch4 shadow map acceleration. ATi will launch 3 series of the X1900. The first is the X1900XT and X1900XTX. The other is the CrossFire edition. The third is the All in Wonder X1900. The X1900 series has 3 times more shader peformance than the previous generation. X1900 has 48 Pixel Shader processors. It is also the best card with SM 3.0 including HDR with AA. AVIVO is also supported on this series of cards. Compared to the X1800 which has only 60 billion ops/sec, this card has 166 billion pixel share ops/sec. The X1900 is rated 553.8GigaFlops/s while the X1800 is 272.5 In terms of image quality, ATi's Super Anti-Aliasing doubles the scene’s pixel accuracy. CrossFire’s programmable compositing engine allows the user to double the image quality without performance degradation
