M1695 Ref Board PCI-E Performance with X800XT 2a/6
Benchmarks Front Side Bus is still a valid and important criteria when judging systems performance. We measured the FSB and found that the board runs at 201.9. To make the comparison more realistic, we increased the default FSB of EPoX 9NPA+ to 201 in the BIOS. A check on the WCPUID shows that it is 201.5MHz. We used a pair of TwinX Corsair RAM and runs it at CAS 2, 5-2-2 and below are the memory benchmark scores obtained. We can see from the chart that the ULi Reference board seems to give a better memory performance result compared to the EPoX 9NPA+. I suppose the beta BIOS is still not optimised.
