Installation

Installation of the heatsink on the Socket 478 is straightfoward as there is no need to remove the existing retention unit. The package comes with the necessary clips for the various socket types. The manual has quite an amount of details on the installation procedure.

During our installation, we find that the clips are especially tight. I spent some time putting on the clips to fasten the heatsink to the socket. That is probably to make the best contact but seriously, it is not easy to get the clips in without using some force.
