Samsung SGH-E760 Motion Recognition Camera Phone (5)
Conclusion (Pricing) The Samsung SGH-E760 is the first retail product that incorporates the Motion Recognition into a phone. With this new capability, a number of simple functions can be switched on easily with a movement. One can just turn on the MP3 player, stop playback etc with a movement of your hands in the directions pre-defined. Unfortunately, this technology seems to be a bit restrictive and it is not configurable. It would be good to able to use this feature to say, dial a predefined phone number. The phone comes with ~90MB of memory which is good enough for most purposes. It would be good to include a transflash slot for external storage. In terms of connectivity, Infra red seems to be taken away but you have USB and Bluetooth. That makes transfer of files easier. The bluetooth capability is also easy to use with the various support - Headset, Handsfree, serial port, dial up, file transfer, object push, direct printing. JAR files transfer through the bluetooth is still not so straightforward and you might need some third party software or download it from your own WAP site. We took a number of shots using the built in 1.3mpixel camera and it seems to turn out well. The photos colour saturation is good and image is sharp. There is no LED light for night shots. You can set your own ISO100,200,400 settings which will definitely improve the quality of images taken under dim light. With the video capability, you can also record clips and transfer and share it with friends. Something I feel that should not been left out is a FM tuner. Ringtones wise, the phone supports MMF, MP3, AAC, AAC+ ringtones. In our tests, we found that the ringtones seems to be a bit soft. I created some AAC files with extension of M4A. You no longer need to rename it and send to the phone. The phoen accepts the m4a extension as MPEG4 audio and you can set it to be ringtone or playback directly in the mediaplayer. Pros :
