Samsung SGH-D500 / D500c TriBand Megapixel Camera Phone (5)
Conclusion The Samsung SGH-D500 is definitely one of the better phones from Samsung. With a large memory of 96MB memory, 1.3 mpixel camera and bluetooth capability, it is the first Samsung phone that puts it on par with the big boys who are dominating the market with their bluetooth phones. We took a number of shots using the built in 1.3mpixel camera and it seems to turn out well. The photos colour saturation is good and image is sharp. Night shots are clean without the bluish dots. I am impressed by the fact that the camera allows you to set your own ISO100,200,400 settings which will definitely improve the quality of images taken under dim light. With the video capability, you can also record clips and transfer and share it with friends. Although the phone has all Bluetooth, Java, GPRS capability, it lacks the support of external media like RS-MMC support. There is no Radio built in as well. As usual, MMF and MP3 ringtones are exceptionally loud. If you think it is not loud enough, you may want to attach the small speaker that comes with the package. Those who are familiar with EasyGPRS can leave the software aside for editing phone book and use the Bluetooth capability of the phone to transfer in/out images and ringtones. Java jar files will probably still have to be installed through GPRS download via websites. Overall, I find this phone a bit pricey for its capabilities. I hope that future Samsung phones will have bluetooth as the default protocol for its high end phones. Pros :
