O2 XDA IIi PDA Camera Phone 5/5
Bluetooth 9 May 2005

Conclusion

Based on the 2nd Edition of Microsoft Windows Mobile 2003 PocketPC Phone Edition, the XDA IIi comes with all the necessary office productivity tools such as Pocket Word, IE, Excel, ClearVue for reading PDF and Powerpoint. This really helps the busy professionals to get things done while on the move. Need an update of the information presented in Excel, just go online using the Internet explorer using either WiFi or GPRS. If you want to save some costs, just install SKYPE and you can talk for free.

As it is also a phone, calling your contact to check out the latest meeting time and update it into the calendar for later synchonising through activesync with notebook/pc. It might be a good alternative to a notebook with slightly less feature considering it is only 200g and so small in size. With the 1.3mpixel camera, taking photos or short videos and send them out as attachments through mail. When extra storage is needed, just plug in a SD card and store it.

In our days of test, we find the PDA runs applications quite smooth. We did run some benchmarks and noticed that the processing power is better than most high end models out there. We do noticed that in terms of file benchmarks, XDA IIi still needs some further tuning.

Overall, it is really an interesting gadget that serves its ultimate purpose as a all-in-one solution. I look forward to seeing a newer model that supports WCDMA. If it also comes with a FM tuner, it would make it the best phone.
