O2 XDA IIi PDA Camera
Phone 3/5
Usage If you are a MS PocketPC user, you would find the interface identical. With the additional applications pre-installed, it makes operating the IIi a breeze. The volume knob is a bit not so responsive and I had some problems decreasing the volume. The battery is quite warm compared to the HP IPAQ. Multimedia The phone comes with a 1.3 mpixel CMOS camera that can be used to take still pictures or short videos. The software allows you to take photos in various modes and under different lighting conditions. The videos can be played back on the PDA right after recording. Otherwise you might want to transfer it out to the PC and share it with friends. Sample photos taken using the camera can be found on page 4. One thing I find about the XDA IIi is its full screen preview of the object to be taken/recorded. Pictures taken using the built in camera are average. Compared to photos taken from the Nokia 6680, it is a bit bright and sharpness is not there. Hopefully O2 can improve on this aspect. Playback of media is not a problem since it supports major formats like MIDI, MP3, MP4, WAV. AAC is not supported. Connectivity XDA IIi comes with WIFI, Bluetooth, USB, GPRS and SD card support. This makes it one of the most complete PDA out there that integrates phone, pda and camera all in 1. We tested the WiFi and noticed that connecting to the AP seems faster compared to the HP IPAQ. GPRS comes into play when you want to go online with no Wifi access. This feature is neat! Bluetooth connectivity is OK with my SE and Motorola phones. Alternatively, you can transfer image/files through the SD slot. Ringtones XDA II ringtones are a bit soft compare to real phones out there. It uses the MIDI or WAV as ringtones. |
