Bluetooth 22 June 2005

Introduction

What is the next big thing after 6800Ultra ? Well, the answer is the 7800GTX which promises faster, better and higher quality graphics capabilities especially for HD video playback. In the gaming world, everyone wants higher speed. The new Nvidia new GeForce 7800 GTX delivers up to twice the pure graphics processing performance of the GeForce 6800 Ultra. The GeForce 7800 GTX GPU will display today’s shader-intensive games at the highest resolutions and unbelievable frame rates with antialiasing and anisotropic filtering turned on. GeForce 7800 GTX boards can be connected in an SLI (Scalable Link Interface) configuration to experience the absolute highest frame rates and 3D rendering quality attainable today, allowing super-high quality settings in even the most demanding 3D games.

As we have discussed before, Purevideo is the technology that allows home theatre users to tap their GPU power to deliver stunning HD movies. 7800GTX extends that technology into the 7800 series delivering superb picture clarity, and precise, vivid colors across all high definition (HD) ATSC video formats or Microsoft WMVHD media. This is made possible with the support of both 3:2 and 2:2 pulldown (inverse telecine), and a host of other features. PureVideo’s advanced scaling and deinterlacing technology allows DVD and other non-HD interlaced content to display incredibly clear, smooth, and artifact free video on progressive displays, ranging from PC screens to large screen HDTVs.

In addition to supporting Microsoft® DirectX® 9.0 Shader Model 3.0 (Microsoft DirectX9.0c), the GeForce 7800 GTX fully supports and is optimized for Longhorn’s Windows Graphics Foundation(WGF) 1.0 and Longhorn Display Driver Model (LDDM). The NVIDIA 7800 GTX GPU is backed by the feature-packed NVIDIA ForceWare Release 75 graphics driver.
