EPoX EP-9NPA+ Ultra NF4 Mainboard Gallery 2/4
Gallery This layout of this mainboard is quite similar to the 9NDA3+ which we reviewed sometime ago. Let's take a look at the rear of the mainboard. There are connectors for COM1, PS/2 Keyboard, mouse, parallel port. S/PDIF, 4 USB, 1 1394 and audio ports. The board comes with 3 PCI, 1 PCI-E x 16, 3 PCI-E x 1 which allows for future expansion cards. The power on board is based on a 3 phase design. On the PCB, we see the support chips e.g. Vitesse VSC8201 PHY chip (non pci-e). Realtek ALC850 8 ch audio codec is on board together with a VIA 6307 supporting the 1394. At the bottom of the board, we see 4 DIMM slots supporting up to 4GB of DC-DDR400. There are 2 IDE ports supporting up to 4 IDE devices. 4 SATA ports are also supported by the chipset. Both the IDE and SATA can be mixed to form an RAID array. At the corner you will find the familiar DEBUG LED and a new addition to EPoX board is the Power on and Reset Switch. It is a plus for enthusiast to turn on/off or reset the system without the need to short the pins on board.
