ASrock 939NF4G-SATA2 (GF6100) Benchmarks 7/7
Bluetooth 4 Nov 2005

Conclusion

ASrock 939NF4G-SATA2 is a Socket 939 board aimed at the budget user as it incorporates the latest C51G integrated graphics north bridge. Although it is a mATX board, it does come with a feature set that is just right for those intending to build a system and use it without spending extra for a graphics card. Although the board comes with integrated graphics, it can always be paired up with a 6600GT or even a 6800GT to tap the power of PCie x 16. The board based on the C51G chipset supports the Sempron, Athlon64 processors with CnQ. It supports 1GHz HT, 2GB DDR400, 8 Channel Audio, 8 USB ports, 1 x PCI-E x 16, Fast Ethernet, 2 SATA II RAID ports.

The performance of this board is mixed. When it is paired up with an external 6600GT, it overtakes the perfomrance of the ATi RS482 board we tested before. When it comes to the internal core, it is still slightly slower than the ATi RS482/ULi m1575 pair.

The hybrid booster on board has some basic features for overclocking the board. It has voltage adjustments for Vcore (up to 1.55v- depends on CPU type) and Vdimm can be set to 4 different levels. The CLK can be set up to 400 and Cpu multiplier can be selected from 4x~25x. You can also run the board in ASync DDR mode. HT width can also be adjusted. So far, we only managed to push the HTT to a max. of 320 x 7 running memory at ASync DDR333. I tried to run it at DDR600 1:1 but the system just couldn't POST.

ASrock 939N4G-SATA2 based on the GF6100 is definitely a budget entry level board that most would think of for building a HTPC. In terms of price and performance, the SiS 760GX is slower in integrated speed and lack of SATA II. The ATI RS482 has some good integrated core but external is slightly slower. Furthermore, there aren't many selections for SiS and ATi S939 solutions out there. From what we know, this board is about to be shipped and you can do a search for it on our price guides.
