Usage

The P910i can be accessed using two methods. The first method is via the conventional keypad access and the second is via the stylus when the keyboard is flipped open.

If you use the stylus, you will be presented with 6 icons on the top of the screen where you can select the various options - messaging, Contacts, Phone, Calendar, Internet and Applications.

If the keyboard is not flipped open, you could have to rely on the jog dial on the left of the phone to access the menu. Options include Messaging, Contacts, Call List, Calendar and Applications.

There are a few themes which you could set found in Application->Control panel. Most of the configurations of the phone is done there.

As the phone is a PDA, it allows you to synchronise your contacts and emails with MS Outlook, Notes etc. We used our infra red connection to sync our contacts and there aren't any issues at all. You can use Bluetooth or the SyncStation provided to do the sync too.

Multimedia

The phone comes with a camera that can be used to take still pictures or short videos. The software CommuniCorder allows one to adjust the brightness, contrast, Backlight, flicker free, lighting, picture size, picture quality, dalay timer and picture freeze timer.

For video, the restriction to the length of video is based on the amount of storage space you have on the phone.

Connectivity

This phone has 64MB of internal memory for you to keep all your videos, pictures, midi, mp3 ringtones. The P910i offers Memory Stick Duo slot for external storage of up to 1GB. You can store the ringtones, images, videos, productivity tools, office files, applications etc either on the Memory Stick or in the phone memory.

Transferring of images, ringtones and Java apps are easy as you can choose to use the infra red, bluetooth,  GPRS or  insert the Memory Stick into a Card reader on a PC and transfer the necessary files into it. If you use Bluetooth or Infrared, the relevant file types will also be dumped into the message inbox (beamed) which you can click to install or view.

Ringtones

P910i comes with a loud speaker located at the back of the phone. This speaker is responsible for playback of ringtones, games, conversations in speakerphone mode. In fact, I was very surprised that the MP3 ringtones are very loud when it is set to a MAXIMUM level of 9.
