Foxconn 915A01-P-8EKRS 915P Socket T Review (7)
Bluetooth 20 Sep 2004

Conclusion

After reviewing both the Foxconn 915 and 925 boards, I find that both are actually quite similar in performance. In fact, the layout and the BIOS are identical to each other. The board has a clean layout with colour coding employed to highlight the connectors on board. This board supports PCIe, Dual Channel DDR400, DDR2-533, Ethernet, 8 ch audio, USB 2.0 and 1394 making it a good choice for those who do wants a Intel solution that is as rock stable as an Intel board.

Overclocking-wise, this board has the necessary voltage adjustments for Vcore only and it is quite limited. In our tests, we only managed to run the 3.2G processor up to 210MHz at SPD (DDR2-533). You may also use the SuperStep software that comes with the CD-ROM to overclock the FSB. This software also serves as a hardware monitoring tool. It looks like Foxconn didn't join the rest of the brands in making an overclockable board for the masses.

In the package, the CDROM comes with a few software utilities e.g. SuperLogo allows you to change the boot up logo, SuperUpgrade to update bios within Windows thru' internet. There is also SuperBoot for immediate bootup without BIOS screen disruption. Super BIOS protect for protecting BIOS from CIH like virus and SuperRecovery. SuperRecovery allows you to backup and recover your HDD data.

As we can see from the performance charts, this board performs just as good as the 925x equivalent but at a slightly lower price and a few percentage points lower performance. If you are looking for a Prescott Socket T board and do not need ECC support, you might want to take a look at this board.
