EPoX 9NDA3+ NF3 Ultra Socket 939 Mainboard Review (8)
Conclusion EPoX 9NDA3+ is the first nF3-Ultra board we test at OCW and we are quite pleased with its performance. In the benchmarks, we see a mixed results. Some were higher and some were slightly lower. In fact, in most of the 3D based benchmarks, it is leading the ABIT AV8 but lacks behind some of those running ASUS A8V Deluxe. Features-wise, EPoX 9NDA3+ has all the necessary features with 4 SATA ports and offered PCI/AGP FIX feature of the chipset. As we know, EPoX 9NDA+ comes with RAID5 but 9NDA3+ took that out. This is probably due to careful considerations by EPoX to target a wider buyer base with a lower cost. There is also the built in firewall and Gigabit ethernet provided by the chipset Overclocking wise, the EPoX 9NDA3+ comes equipped in PowerBIOS all the features that overclockers love to have. They include all the voltage adjustments and an amazing FSB range adjustable up to 400MHz FSB. The BIOS offers FIX AGP which allows us to max up the FSB to around 285MHz x 8. We did manage to POST at 295MHz but it is unstable. It seems that it is the limitation of the CPU since PCI/AGP is not affected. Overall, the EPoX 9NDA3+ is a rock stable board and if you are those freaks who wants to have fun with an expensive Socket 939 CPU. This board is there for you. The only probable con is the voltage selection options are too limited.
