Computex 2004 Coverage Day 3 (1)
Foxconn Mainboards Foxconn also known as Honghai in Chinese displayed a number of Prescott boards at the booth. Not only that, Foxconn also has some good small form factor boxes and casings. I asked a couple of questions about Foxconn's target group of users and whether they would have a subsidiary brand just like what the rest of the 1st tier manufacturers are doing. Foxconn's answer is that they won't have a second brand. The only differentiation is that their K8 boards will be under the name of Winfast. Foxconn indicates that they will use the same brand from high end to entry level boards. They also believe in practicability with variations of board designs that suits most needs of users. I enquired if they will release BIOS that offers overclocking, their response is that stability and performance comes first but there don't forgo any possibility of enthusiastic overclockable boards in the future with beta bios supporting those adjustments that most need.
On show are the matrix series of
casings which looks quite sleek.
