Chaintech VNF3-250 NF3-250 Mainboard Review (1)
Gortok 8 May 2004

OK, so now that we have it all up and running, it's time to benchmark....

Setup is as follows: Chaintech VNF3-250

  • AMD A64 3000+ Stock HSF
  • 512 MB Kingston ValueSelect DDR400 (Cas 2.0-6-3-3)
  • PNY GeForce FX5600 128M
  • IBM-Hitachi Global Storage Systems 40G IDE HDD

I'll stick to the normal testing routine Bluetooth normally uses. First, we'll verify default FSB...here, again we find 200.9 mhz. This is about what we're finding on most boards lately. Manufacturers are running them a little faster than 200, with the exception being the SiS 755 boards, which are run almost exactly 200.

Next up is the SiSoft Sandra 2004 Memory benchmark. We find here that the VNF3-250 is slightly faster than a few of the latest  Socket 754 boards, even at the slower timings. (Maybe Bluetooth will send me some good stuff...heeheee)

Next, we'll do some 3D testing. Bear in mind this is not a top of the line video card, so results will be lower...

and 3D Mark 03...Wow, that's a real workout for a video card!

SuperPi

Next up, we'll do some overclocking to see what we can get out of this CPU and MB...
