Review (1)
ABIT AV8 ABIT has been quiet for the past months as they were busy with their worldwide gaming event. As a company that focuses on gaming, ABIT is implementing more stability onto their series of boards. The ABIT AV8 is ABIT's latest Socket 939 product based on the VIA K8T800Pro chipset. The AV8 comes with 4 DIMM slots supporting four 184-pin DIMM sockets (Un-buffered Non-ECC DIMM) and supports Dual Channel DDR 400/333/266 (Max. 4GB), With it VIA 8237 south bridge, it supports SATA 150 MB/s RAID 0/1. Gigabit Ethernet and 1394 are available for best connectivity. On board audio is equipped, Realtek ALC658 6-Channel AC'97 CODEC on board supporting professional digital audio interface supports optical S/P DIF In/Out. Most importantly, this board comes
with many nice overclocking features. That includes a large range of FSB and
multiplier controls. Vcore, Vagp, Vdimm, Vchipset, HTT, North and South
Bridge voltages can all be adjusted. The
µGuru built onto the board takes care of the fan speed and
μGuru has it's onboard memory that allows users to save their
favorite overclocking settings for specific applications. OC Guru™ ups the
ante with ABIT AutoDrive™, which
allows you to have overclocking, voltage, and fan settings change automatically
per application. Have the system lower fan speeds and noise levels when
you are surfing the net, but automatically raise the FSB and crank the cooling
up when you launch a 3D game. Only OC Guru™
with ABIT AutoDrive™ gives this level
of control.
