Benchmarking

Memory Benchmarks (fsb:166, AXP2700+)

SiSoft Sandra 2002

The infamous SiSoft Sandra 2002 is used to test out the memory benchmarks, CPU Arithmetic and Multimedia benchmarks.  All the systems are tweak to it's maximum possible settings of CAS 2, 2-2-5 (except ASrock which we can't tune)

All boards running in SYNC DDR333 (166/166) otherwise specified. The FSB of the various boards are :

Shuttle MN31N : 167.05Mhz
ABIT NF7-S v1.2 : 166.36Mhz
Gigabyte 7VAXP-A Ultra : 166.92Mhz
AOpen AK79G Max : 167.04Mhz
ASROCK K7S8X : 166.64Mhz
ECS L7S7A2 : 166.65Mhz
SiS 746FX Ref board : 168.2Mhz
EPoX 8RDA+ : 167.05Mhz
ABIT KD7 : 166.88Mhz

In SiSoft Memory benchmarks, we can see that Shuttle MN31N is as fast as the EPoX 8RDA+ as both runs at 167.05Mhz FSB instead of at exact 166.66Mhz. In fact, we can see from the chart below that the 4 top memory performers are all nForce2 boards followed by KT400A and SiS 746/746FX

In the CPU Multimedia tests, the Shuttle board seems to perform pretty slowly compared to the rest of the boards in this category.

In CPU Arithmetic, the performance levels are similar to CPU multimedia tests. MN31N has pretty good results leading all the nForce2 boards in comparison.
