Intel 865PE Springdale boards 4 way shootout (8) - FIC
P4-865PE Max
Conclusion FIC P4-865PE Max is FIC's Intel Springdale board. The board has a nice layout and the colour coding used is really nice. FIC could have colour coded the soft switch, reset etc. Thumbs up to its colour scheme. The heatsink's tri-colour fan looks great in a transparent casing. This board is exceptionally stable and we didn't experience hangs using our different RAMs at default voltages. The performance of this board is similar to the other boards we reviewed so far except one. If the BIOS can be tuned upwards, it would be a jump of 10% in performance. When compared to Epox and Chaintech, the performance are not too far from one another. The range is from 100 ~ 233 at 1Mhz stepping. AGP/PCI can be fixed. CPU, DDR
and AGP voltages are adjustable. CPU Voltage can be set from the default or
1.500v ~ 1.675v which is a bit limited. The board has the bare minimum to get you started for a good looking board. It does not have a large range of FSB to play with (perhaps can be corrected with new BIOS). It also does not have SATA RAID 1 (as offered by Sil3112a or 3rd party chipsets). There is also no IDE RAID on this board. Suggested Retail : - Pros 好处:
