In our tests, the performance of the ASUS P4P800 is amazing. We never thought that a i865PE board could reach the performance of a i875P board. As I have mentioned in the review, we have spoken to ASUStek about this and they said that their engineers have put in lots of effort in fine tuning the performance to its optimum. Although this is an engineering sample, we should expect the retail to have similar performance since ASUStek seems pretty confident that tuning the BIOS can improve the performance of their boards up to 10% faster than its competitors.

The ASUS P4P800 is rock stable when we pair it up using 2 x CAS 2.5 DDR 400 Kingston modules too at  CAS 2, 5-2-2 and we left it at default voltage of 2.5v. The are little voltage fluctuations and it remains very stable with loops of 3Dmark2001. The only strange thing issue we had is the low score of Business Winstone 2001. Could this be due to the overtuning that leads to a slightly worsened score?

Features-wise, there is the Wi-Fi slot which we hope to get to try it out once the WiFi card is available. The usual IDE RAID, SATA RAID is also available allowing best flexibility. 6 channel audio and the Gigabit Ethernet makes it best for streaming video. Like most ASUS boards, this board also comes with some unique ASUS features like C.P.R (CPU Parameter Recall), Post reporter, Mylogo2, MultiLanguage BIOS, EZFlash BIOS, Q-fna technology, CrashFree BIOS2 etc.

This board provides a range of FSB that you could choose from. 100~400 FSB is selectable and voltage adjustments can be made for Vdimm, Vcore, VAgp through the BIOS. It is a pity that we do nit have a P4 2.4C to test the overclockability. 230Mhz FSB stable with SPD ram timings is easily attainable on this board.

Overall, I am very impressed with the stability and performance of this board and the options that are available. The only disappointment is that the wait for WiFi card.
