NEC e606 Review (4)
Jam July 2003

What comes in the box

In the box you will receive:

Manual
Charger
Data cable + CD with data suite
USIM
2X battery
Headset with two earpieces

Ok now you may of read USIM up there and that was no mistake. The phone takes a new type of SIM card called a USIM, which is made for 3G phones. The phone will not take a normal GSM SIM (in my case) I have tried it and it just asks for a USIM to be inserted.

Here is a picture of the “3” 3G USIM card next to a normal GSM orange SIM card.

Java games and apps

The phone does have Java but it is very hard to use since the data suite dose not have the option to install games onto the phone it seems they can only be downloaded from your 3G network (I have tried sending by email with no luck) this java system is very different I have never seen anything like it on its java platform you can press two buttons at once, what this means is you could be running and shooting your gun at the same time. Jumping and throwing, or when racing you would not need to take your finger off the accelerator to turn the car!

Battery

The battery is a Li-ion battery 3.7V= of 780mAh capacity and lasts about 1 day on standby (test done by me). Both batteries are the same. I think they added two since they new how long it would last which is a very low 1Day.

Conclusion:

I give it 8/10 it would of got 10/10 if it weren’t for the lack of full Blue Tooth and the battery times in my opinion they could of made the battery times longer

Here are some pictures of the phone and screen captures.

Here is a capture of its stand by screen with 3G coverage.

Here is a capture of making a MMS or Video MSG

Here is a capture of its colour themes.

Here is a capture of its “3” services HTML site, where media can be downloaded.

Here is a capture of one game that “3” offers. It is an egg game where you have to copy the dances of 5 eggs. Very simple game that gets harder each rounds.
