Gigabyte 7NNXP nForce2 Mainboard (5)
Bluetooth 19th June 2003

Benchmarking

We checked out Q3 running Demo001 at 1024x768x32 Hi-Quality. In this category, the SIS 748; a single channel DDR solution lost to the nForce2 platform. This is to be expected. The difference between the two boards is very minimal. It is only 0.2 fps which is hardly noticable. In fact, what would happen if the FSB was 200.5, it would have got similar or high results.

The SiS 748 boards are no match to dual channel boards. We can see that the nForce2 are 7.4% faster then the SiS ref board over here.

In 3DMark2001SE, the difference between the two nForce2 boards is more apparent. 16266 vs 16135. A 0.8% difference is registered. Looks like Gigabyte engineers have not tapped the full potential of the chipset yet.

In 3DMark2003, the difference between the three are closer. 4796 vs 4785. The narrow difference between the two nForce2 boards is merely 11 marks.
