Benchmarking

We check out the results for ZD Benchmarks using CC Winstone 2002 and Business Winstone 2001 in this section of the benchmark tests.

SiS boards always seem to have better throughput when it comes to disk access and this resulted in better overall performance in CCWS and BWS.

When we run both machines, we see that the SiS 748 REF is 6.35% faster than the EPoX 8RDA3+. The ASRock K7S8X-E is not too far off from the Ref board too. It seems that the IDE performance of the nForce2 boards are still not as good compared to the SiS boards. We hope to see a new revision of the nForce2 unified drivers which will speed up the IDE access.

On Business Winstone 2001, the difference is much higher by 9%. This is amazing. Looks like the SiS 748 platform is indeed much better if your intention is better performance in desktop and business applications.  The ASrock K7S8X-E is not very far from the reference board. It scores 86.7 which is 8.5% faster than the EPoX 8RDA3+.
