BIOSTAR is not a new comer to the
mainboard industry. It has been around for quite some time. Some of its better
well known products include the BIOSTAR Canterwood board we reviewed earlier
this year. It it one of the first to incorporate the Coloured front panel
connectors and Wi-Fi.
In fact, BIOSTAR K8VHA is one of the
two mainboards that BIOSTAR had ready for the Athlon 64 Socket 754 platform
already certified by AMD. The other board is a nForce3 board.
The K8VHAPro is based on the VIA
K8T800/8237 chipset mainboard. It features SATA support, comes with Gigabit
Ethernet, USB 2.0, 1394 support, 6 channel audio. There are other models that
comes with IDE RAID, WIFI.
The board also comes with some
overclocking features - FSB adjustments and a software WarpSpeeder which works
in Windows. It automatically tunes your system for max performance by increasing
the FSB.
