DiGiDice AB-2003 i865G SFF Barebone Review (8)
Conclusion Boxes Boxes everywhere. We see that every manufacturer is now jumping into the SFF bandwagon. Who will lead the market and get a bigger share of the market remains unknown. ABIT DiGiDice is ABIT's first try on the SFF platform. Being one of the companies that started off doing overclocking, DiGiDice's ability to overclock easily is something different from most other SFF boxes out there. One of the innovative ones is multi functional knob on the front panel, you can increase the FSB by 5, 10, 15, 20, 25% by just turning the knob. The CDROM bays are also nicely designed with the so called dust cover concept. This keeps dust away from the CDROM/CDRW drives. The inclusion of the card reader is also a plus point which most SFF didn't take into consideration the needs of a truly multimedia machine. The installation of the DiGiDice is not as straightforward as I thought. After testing the BIOSTAR's Athlon 64 Box, I was thinking that getting the DiGiDice up should be fast. It isn't the case because there are wires and cables that you need to fix it within the box. You would also need to unscrew the racks (left and right) to have direct access to the ram slots. The PSU is also placed directly next to the mainboard, it could have been placed higher so that you can access the CPU socket and RAM slots from the right hand . The performance of the system is excellent since ABIT has ways to enable that Canterwood level performance on 865G. From the benchmarks, we can see that the ABIT box is fast and steady even at aggressive timings. In fact, we tried Corsair and Kingston (2 sticks for DC), both were able to run a Street Racer without any crashes during the tests. Although it is a power horse, the exterior design can be improved. For example, the front panels would have used aluminum instead of plastic and it would look better if it is black in colour. Well. that is my personal view of it and some might prefer it to be multi-coloured. Overall, it is another quality & innovative product from ABIT! ABIT Products Pricing Information Pros 好处:
