Triplex Xabre Pro (4)
amddiy 29 May 2002

The drivers used in the test are based on a pre-release driver 3.01.01. The official release version will be 3.01.02 and it will definitely be better.

In the comparison, we compare it to Gainward MX460MX440 and other cards. We used Q3 Demo and 3Dmark2001SE on Athlon XP2100+.

3D Mark 2001SE results shows that Triplex Xabre Pro 400's performance is definitely much better than MX460 and it is close to Ti4200. We also noticed that the performance is close to the ATi 8500LE. When we overclocked it, it overtook most of the cards that are of the same class.

Looks like Xabre is here to stay and will compete head to head with the MX series of cards. At a lower cost and better performance, it might force the other chipset makers to come out with cheaper and faster solutions in the near future. With more competition, we the users will be the overall winner :)
