ZD Winbench99 Disk Winmarks

It is not surprising that most the benchmark results obtain in both application based benchmarks depends a lot on the disk performance of the test system. Winbench99 Disk Winmarks provides us with a better view on it's impact on overall system performance.

A high score of 22500/39500 is obtained using the latest SIS IDE drivers version 2.01.02. Although the benchmarks shows impressive scores, the CCWS2002 and BWS2001 scores does not seem to benefit from it. This is really strange and I have a feeling it is the drivers and BIOS issues that deter the performance. This also happened on our Shuttle AS45GTR too.

On the other hand, we could see a substantial increase in the disk performance from ATA-100 (SiS 961) to ATA-133 (SiS963). The drivers boosted the disk performance up by almost 63% in Business Disk Winmarks and 57% in High End Disk Winmarks.
