Benchmarking
We conduct the usual tests on the setup with
the following configuration :
Test System:
- AMD AthlonXP 1500+ and Thermoengine heatsink/fan
- Maxtor 40G ATA133 HD
- AOPEN 40X CDROM
- MSI Geforce3 Ti200 Graphics card
- Nanya DDR333 256MB DDR
- Channelwell 375W AMD Approved PSU
Quake3 Arena results
Further investigation was done based on two
popular gaming software Quake3 Arena. We decided to drop DroneZ as results are
not consistent in multi runs. The following results are
tabulated for reference.
AthlonXP1500+
We benchmark the board using a MSI Geforce3 Ti200
graphics card with the latest detonator 21.83 drivers. Have a close look at the
results and see how fast is the KT3 Ultra in terms of real 3D tests.

Let's compare MSI KT3 versus other KT266A
boards running at 266/266. A score of 242.8 fps seems to be on par with the rest
of the KT266A boards tested so far. Under the Hi Quality tests, it somewhat
overtakes the rest of the KT266As. Looks like KT333 is optimised for higher
resolution. The scores of DDR266 and DDR333 is merely a 3 fps (HiQuality) and a
9 fps (Fastest) which is not a huge difference.

(512x384x16bots)
