Conclusion

TV tuner cards have definitely come a long way but being able to use it just like a VCR is probably something that arrives to our desktop these days. It seems that PC is now the integral machine that you would probably need for home entertainment nowadays. 

While some of you might find that it's very inconvenient to use such a card and setup the PC just for this purpose as compared to a DVD-RW for recording TV programmes, I find that this is not necessary the case. The reason is because it actually allows you to encode the programmes in various formats like MPEG1, MPEG2, Windows Media format. With the Windows media format, you could possibly even set aside a machine just for storing the video programmes for later viewing across your network or for easy video streaming*

While you can use this card on a machine for video clips, a bonus is the FM TV on board which allows you to store in MP3 format.* In our tests, we found some bugs with the software. The card also doesn't support Teletext and NICAM/German Stereo sound. 

I would say that the Leadtek Winfast TV2000XP is an innovative product which deserves our award.
