Gigabyte AP128DG-H ATi Radeon8500 128MB Review (6)
Overclocker 24 Jul 2002

Conclusion

As we can see from the benchmarks, the 128M AP128DG-H does perform with significant performance levels faster than the 64MB equivalent. In fact, we conducted a similar test using the GF3 Ti200 and found that there isn't much difference. Looks like the ATi Radeon8500 is able to do the job pretty well.

As a whole the performance level is brought to another level (with up to 33% increase in one Code Creatures Benchmark Pro). This is probably due to the fact that this benchmark is exceptionally memroy hungry and is taxing on the graphics capabilities.

As an overall product, AP128GD-H is quite similar to the AP64D-H. It comes with the Vtuner provided in the CDROM package to tweak the performance of the card. Games are also provided in the package. The only pity is the lack of Video In capability.

Overall, this is a good card to own if you require enormous graphics manipulation. Here are my ratings
