Gigabyte 8INXP E7205 Granite Bay Dual Channel DDR Mainboard Review (2a) Benchmarking Update 25/Nov/2002: Using Gigabyte's own overclocking utility Easytune4 provided in the package, we discovered a few points which we would like to share with everyone of you. Firstly, the software shows that DDR is running at 354 instead of 266. With a click, we can change it from DDR354 to DDR266. Secondly the PCI and AGP seems to be recorded wrongly at 44(PCI)/89(AGP) which I feel is the program's fault because when we raise the FSB, PCI and AGP reaches 50/100 linearly which is not true since we fix it at 33/66 in BIOS.
As there were no options available in the BIOS, we ran it as it is. We only realised that the results recorded below for Gigabyte 8IXNP is when it is running at Async DDR354 (which it is only supposed to run as Dual DDR266 board). This resulted in a higher score than the other Granite Bay board we tested. After tuning it to DDR266 using Easytune4, Sisoft Sandra records 3289/3254 compared to its previous record of 3557/3356. The scores also dropped (results might also be affected because easytune4 is running at the same time in background). |
