Benchmarking
We conduct the usual tests on the setup with
the following configuration :
Test System:
- AMD AthlonXP 1500+ and Thermoengine heatsink/fan
- Maxtor 40G ATA133 HD
- AOPEN 40X CDROM
- MSI Geforce3 Ti200 Graphics card
- Nanya DDR333 256MB DDR
- Channelwell 375W AMD Approved PSU
DroneZ & Quake3 Arena results
Further investigation was done based on two
popular gaming software DroneZ and Quake3 Arena. The following results are
tabulated for reference.
AthlonXP1500+
Update : With F6e BIOS, the
following Q3 scores are updated (all comparisons based on 1T cmd, CAS2 DDR333
mode)
We benchmark the board using a MSI Geforce3 Ti200
graphics card with the latest detonator 21.83 drivers. Have a close look at the
results and see how fast is the 7VRXP in terms of real 3D tests.

DroneZ which tests OpenGL results are just on
par with the KT266A counterparts. The surprise came when we operate it under
DDR333 mode, the results dipped to 64.72fps/585.4. It indicates there is a big
operational difference in performance when you operate in 1T command versus 2T
command.

In the 3Dmark2001 category, it seems that the
performance is similar to that of the 7VTXH+. In fact, it seems better in the
high quality tests as compared to the Fastest tests in both Demo 1 and Demo 2.
As we can see, when running at DDR266 or DDR333, the performance gains are very
negligible. Perhaps some further tuning to the BIOS will improve the results.
