ECS L4S5A Review (2)

Benchmarking
We conduct the usual tests on the setup with
the following configuration :
Test System:
- Intel Pentium 4 ES 1.5Ghz
- ThermalTake heatsink/fan
- IBM 13.5GB 7200 RPM HD
- MSI Geforce3 Ti200
- 256MB Nanya DDR333 DDR CAS 2.5
- IBM 20G ATA100 HD
In our tests, we set the RAM at CAS2 Ultra
timings and run the system under 200/333 mode. The following screen shots the WCPUID of
the frequency of the FSB. The BIOS we used is ver 1.0c posted on ECS website.

Excellent disk performance scores. In terms of
CC Winstone2000, it is still a bit slower than the reference board. It is
slightly faster than MSI 645Ultra (DDR333). Could it be because the BIOS is not
optimised well enough. I guess so.

If we were to compare the results of the SIS645
boards versus the Intel 845D, we can see that in Content Creation category, when
the Sis645 runs in DDR333 mode, it is still behind i845D counterpart. If you
were to compare neck to neck at DDR266, the i845D is a better performer.
