Benchmarking

We conduct the usual tests on the setup with the following configuration :

Test System:

AMD AthlonXP 1500+ and Thermoengine heatsink/fan
Maxtor 40G 7200RPM ATA133 HD
AOPEN 40X CDROM
MSI Geforce3 Ti200 Graphics card
Nanya DDR333 256MB DDR
Channelwell 375W AMD Approved PSU

Quake3 Arena results

Further investigation was done based on two popular gaming software Quake3 Arena. We run Q3 for 5 times and take the most consistent result. We benchmark the board using a MSI Geforce3 Ti200 graphics card with the latest detonator 21.83 drivers. Have a close look at the results and see how fast the a7v333 can go.

*Q3 results are recorded based on Fastest (512x384x16bots) and Hi-Quality (800x600x32bits)

Although Chaintech 7VJL has the best 3Dmark2001 scores, it suffered a great defeat in the OpenGL Q3 test. It seems that in both Demo001 and Demo002, Chaintech 7VJL is not fast as the rest of the boards out there.
