Chaintech 7NJS nForce2 Mainboard
Overclocking
Using this initial BIOS Chaintech supplied, we are unable to change the multiplier. The system booted up recognising the Tbred 2400+ having a low multiplier of 7x. We went ahead and POSTed and remain stable at 200Mhz as we tuned down the ram timings to CAS 2.5 , 3-3-6 using one pc. of Corsair XMS3500 module. Default voltages are used. In this initial test, we also noticed that the Dual DDR doesn't seem to work too well using this early BIOS. The performance gain in the memory benchmarks is not significant. Below are the screen shots and results of the test. Single DDR (1 x Corsair XMS3500 512M) Dual DDR (2 x Twinmos 256M) 3Dmark2001SE Build 330 Quake 3 (1024x768x32-hiquality) 234 fps |
