Memory Benchmarks

SiSoft Sandra 2002

The infamous SiSoft Sandra 2002 is used to test out the memory benchmarks. All the systems are tweak to it's maximum possible settings of Cas 2, 2-2-5. The RAMBUS boards are not that customisable and we leave it at the maximum possible running at 4x for CPU/Memory frequency ratio. FSB : 133Mhz.

The chart below compares it with the rest of the chipsets; DDR and RAMBUS chipsets. It can be clearly seen that RAMBUS RIMM4200 again leads the pack with a memory bandwidth of 65% faster than DDR266 and 21% faster than PC800 RAMBUS. All comparisons are done based on 512MB setup. Will this extra bandwidth translate to better overall performance. We shall see in the next few pages.
