ASUS P4S533 SiS645DX Review (8)
Conclusion The ASUS P4S533 shows impressive scores especially in the 3D category. In terms of Business and Content creation, it falls right behind the SIS645DX reference board. We presume this could be due to a driver problem rather than an BIOS issue. The BIOS is full of ram timing options which you could test out with to squeeze the last drop of blood from your Pentium 4 processor. The ASUS P4S533 has some neat features that needs a mention. First it uses the newer 961B south bridge which brings ATA-133 support to this board. LAN is built on board which is definitely a plus point for broadband users. There is a also a voice diagnostic which will read out what is wrong with your system. The 6 Channel audio is excellent providing a simple home entertainment solution. Most importantly by virtue of SiS645DX, running memory at Async 166 is possible. Async 200 works but relatively unstable and you would need to reduce the ram timings and pump up some voltages. Installation is straightforward but I feel that the row of capacitors on the right rear of the board could be shifted elsewhere. This is because the chances of breaking them is high when you remove your CPU heatsink. Overclocking wise, this board has up to 166Mhz FSB for you to play with. The current BIOS 1006 is pretty complete and concise. Documentation is good, clear and easy to understand. It makes installation much simpler. It would be great if the DDR voltages and the CPU vcore can be all put into the BIOS instead of having to meddle with jumpers. Once P4-533Mhz CPUs are readily available, I think this board will be one of the top choice that you should look for. Pros 好处:
