The ASUS A7V333 is one of the best
features board available in the market right now. The general performance of
this board is pretty good probably due to the higher fsb at 135Mhz. We can see
that the board is tuned to perform very well in AGP but it loses out in Content
Creation benchmarks.
Features-wise, A7V333 has one of the best
combinations but also left out certain things which makes it a complete board.
It's a pity that LAN is not available on board. The rest of the features e.g. 6 ch audio support,
Promise ATA-133 RAID 0/1/0+1 are useful in the future. USB 2.0 is also a great
feature on board. The Firewire port makes this board a board that has the
speediest connectivity using USB 2.0 and Firewire.
Installation is very straightforward, there is
ample space around the CPU and I think most of the heatsinks should have no
issues fitting onto it. The software installation went ahead without
problems.
Overclocking is cool as we are able to run 7 x
200Mhz FSB easily on a AthlonMP 1.2G. The settings are done based on DDR266, SPD
settings. Something is wrong with the BIOS though as any setting above 200Mhz
will set it a max of 200Mhz. A multilingual
manual is also included in the package.
