It is to my surprise that ABIT actually sent me
one of their latest products the ABIT GF4 Ti4200 OTES. You probably have been
wonder what the heck is O.T.E.S. O.T.E.S. (Outside Thermal Exhaust System)
is a ABIT's heat pipe technology, a particular blower of fan types, as well
as a copper fin heatsink to efficiently transfer and exhaust heat away from
the GPU from the back of the card.
The
first thought that came to my mind is the similar technology Zalman employs in
cooling VGA cards at Computex Taipei. I also wonder how much of an effect will
it have on the GPU. Some other questions would be will the 7200 RPM fan generate
lots of noise ? We will find that out in a short while. Below is the spec list
followed by gallery and benchmarks using 3DMark2001SE B330, Q3 demo001, Comanche
4 and CodeCreatures.
