ABIT has again proven themselves as one of the most innovative
companies by introducing the ABIT AT7 Max2 VIA
KT400 Based AMD K7 Mainboard. This mainboard extends the tradition of the Max
series of mainboard with extensibility as the main design criteria. If you have seen
the AT7 (KT333), there is no deny that the Max series does have something very
unique among the other boards.
With
the AT7 Max2, it inherits the extensibility factor and also added on new
features which will definitely make you drool. 8x AGP is supported and you can
run the Radeon9700pro at streaming speed, this is definitely an important update of the KT400 chipset.
On top of that, this board uses Highpoint 374 + Marvel
Controller chip which allows 2 channels of IDE ATA133 RAID + 2 channels of SATA
RAID. The back panel also has the most extensions available with the
re-appearance of PS/2 Keyboard connector and PS/2 mouse.
In
total, this board will support up to 3 x 1394 ports (Int+Ext), 8 USB (Int+Ext),
possibility of hooking up to 16 HDDs (mixture of S-ATA and ATA133/100/66 thru'
Serillel).
SoftMenu III is on the
AT7 Max2 and allows voltage, fsb, multiplier adjustments for the overclocking
enthusiasts. Remember to check out Gallery page 4.
